BKK GUIDE DAY 1

YOZ GUYS!

I AM BACK HEH :D

sorry for the late update as I went to my SCBE CAMP 2 days after my bkk trip so also no time post uhh..
anw, as promised I am suppose to do up a rough bkk guide. But 4 days in one post is too xiong for both me and you lerr lolol. So I do day by day kayys. today start with day 1.

We arrived at the Suvarnabhumi airport in Thailand via tigerairways. To reach your hotel via taxi, thr is a 'taxi counter' at basement. So basically, you just need to show your hotel name/address to the counter and they will arrange for you. Taxi goes by meter thr and you need to pay an additional 50 baht (I think) for service charge. One thing to bear in mind, if you are going to drop at 2 places, ie shopping mall and hotel, make sure you tell the counter. This is cos not every taxi driver can understand English and what happened to us was that we wanted to drop 2 person at platinum mall and 2 person at our hotel. However we didn't tell the counter as we thought we could tell the taxi driver. We were so wrong as it was practically impossible to communicate with the taxi driver and the whole journey was quite frustrating. D:

But oh well, that's the journey to the hotel. We stayed at The Berkeley Hotel for our whole duration of stay thr (4 days 3 nights). Its a new hotel and when I was thr it was the pre-opening thr period, hence we got the discounted price from agoda. Trust me. Agoda is really good. Cos we wanted to use the UOB card to get further discount, but we mixed up the booking site as even though its under agoda, we are suppose to book at a different webpage to be entitled for the discount. However, when we emailed agoda that we made a mistake, they immediately refunded us and provided us with the discounted price. It was really kind of them as afterall it was our fault for not reading the T&C carefully. Anw, so back to our hotel. The hotel is 5 star and within walking distance to pratunam, platinum and big C. Hence location was convenient. In addition, hotel staff were extremely nice and friendly and even offer to lend a helping hand when they see you are back with heavy bags of shopping goods. The only flipside is that its a new hotel, hence not many taxi drivers will know its location. One suggestion I have is that to tell the taxi driver to go to palladium world shopping center, which is just directly beside the hotel. Mind you, palladium is pronounce as PAR-LA-DIUM or else they wont know what are you talking about.

So, we went to the chatuchak (weekend market) on the first day. The taxi driver was real nice and he can speak Chinese! so really, what type of language your driver can speaks is dependent on heng suay one. lol. Chatuchak was kinda confusing for us as we couldn't find all the clothes area. But it was definitely an eye opening experience for us as we saw all kind of things selling thr. clothes are really cheap also, less than 200 baht per piece depending on what you are looking for. OH! we had lunch in JJ mall, the woody thai restaurant beside the food court on the top floor. Food thr are real good and after eating thai food thr, you wont think those in SG are nice already LOL. The place gets crowded during lunch time but cos we arrived early, so we didn't get caught in the crowd.

I think this more of less concluded our day one as the walk inside chatuchak was real fun but tiring.

YAY! done for day one! post up the photos nxt time.

Anw sidetrack, I am back from a real fun faculty camp. I think if a camp is fun really depends on who your grp ppl are, and your gls. Thankfully I am in a really awesome grp, chill and fun. :D
