HAPPY 47th BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!

was watching the NDP parade(on tv) and there was this part on why we love Singapore.
made me suddenly realise that even though we always complain about singapore, be it complaining about MRT breakdowns, kiasuness of singaporeans, rising prices etc, but at the end of the day, we still love her.

there is no reason for love, when you love someone, you accept whatever flaw the person possess. similarly, i love singapore for who she is, i love the way we are being define as - the ones who love queueing up, the kiasu ones, those who speaks singlish and the list goes on. like there was this guy interviewed for the NDP video who mentioned that it is really heart warming when you are overseas and suddenly a stranger next to you just goes "dont do this lah". though these traits in the eyes of others may not be 'wow' factor, but to me, as a singaporean, i am proud to be associated with them. true that they are not exactly positive traits, but they are our characteristics and they are what all singaporean hav in common -- well, at least almost.

true that singapore is not perfect, but who would have thought that she would accomplish what she had today? who would have thought that such a small red dot will be a rising star?

i  am really gad that i am born a singaporean. though i may not be able to tell you the exact reason, but i love singapore for this is our home :)
